“What advice would you give to an up-and-coming Design Professional?”
That was the question that piqued our curiosity and that started what has now become the Architectural Foundation Interview Series.
During the Covid Pandemic that started in 2020, AFSF (like everyone else) was forced to move our program from an in-person classroom setting to an online zoom platform. In the beginning, we had no idea what to expect. Would anyone want to sign up?
To our surprise, enrollment in the program actually doubled. With physical location no longer a barrier to the program, hundreds of students from around the world were able to participate and start down the path to becoming a designer.
And yet, it felt like something was missing. The little things that one gets from being in the same room as someone. The stories, the advice, the intangible conversations.
So we reached out to the local A/E/C community and asked for help. Would anyone be willing to get on camera and share their experience with our students?
The response was overwhelming! Dozens of people with amazing stories replied back and donated their time and their words of wisdom. People of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and genders talking about their journey in the world of design and offering their best advice.
