The Build San Francisco Studio

The Build San Francisco Studio

A great way to start your academic day

The Build San Francisco Studio is a two period morning class for high school students who are looking for a new approach to high school.

This special program – a partnership with the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco and the San Francisco Unified School District — will allow students to work in the project-based, technology rich professional atmosphere of the Build San Francisco learning center. We are willing to accept any student who has:

  • A positive attitude
  • An interest in learning or sense of curiosity
  • The willingness to present themselves in public
  • The ability to represent their school appropriately in a work situation
  • Enough self responsibility to keep to the program schedule
  • The willingness to attempt all assigned tasks

The program focuses on design projects using advanced 3D modeling and animation software from Autodesk. Students earn 10 Credit units for elective credit in Architectural Design (U.C. Approved “F”) and Environmental Field Studies (U.C. Approved “G”). Classes meet at 901 Mission Street, Suite 110. The program is convenient to Embarcadero Muni and BART stations as well as all Market and Mission Street Bus lines.

Schedule:

Classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 until 12:00.

The 2012 Design Studio consists of a special program for students from Independence High School in San Francisco. Created by The Architectural Foundation of San Francisco in partnership with San Francisco Department of Children Youth and Families and the administration of Independence High School, a group of students meet three times weekly at Build SF to work on special design projects. The most significant of these is their collaboration with the American School of London. Follow the link to learn more about this exciting project.
